Dietician jobs or dietitian jobs as some people spell it are careers which are characterized by the advocacy of spreading the importance of good health and proper nutrition. The preferred dieticians by most medical institutions are those with tertiary qualifications of a bachelor?s degree in either dietetics or food and nutrition.
The roles and responsibilities of a dietician includes the supervision of meal preparations, the modification of diets, the preparation of food, the conduction of further food research, the teaching of the importance of good nutrition, the regulation of health programs, the spreading of disease prevention education, and the promotion of healthy eating habits.
There are eight types of dieticians according to their expertise: administrative dieticians who manage health service subsidiaries of different institutions, business dieticians who spread the importance of good health through the media, clinical dieticians who provide medical nutrition therapies in hospitals, community dieticians who promote proper nutrition and good health in various communities, consultant dieticians who suggest healthy diet patterns and good eating habits, foodservice dieticians who ensure the safety of food service in schools and restaurants, gerontological dieticians who educate the link between aging and nutrition, and research dieticians who study new health innovations and investigate disease prevention schemes.
